2008-2009 "Travel" Season Information

Welcome to the Becker Youth Basketball 2008/2009 Travel Season. Information concerning the basketball program is summarized below.


Registration

Registration is open for 3rd through 8th grade boys and girls until September 24th. Registration Forms, Instructions and Waiver forms can be downloaded from this website. Registration forms can also be picked up at the Community Education office. All registration forms can returned to the Community Education Office and must be accompanied by checks for participation, uniform deposit, and volunteer deposit or they will not be accepted.


Evaluations

Evaluations will be held on September 28th in the Becker Field House. There will be no evaluations for 3rd & 4th grade players. These players will be divided by coaches based on skill level after the start of practices. The need for evaluations for 5th through 8th grade players will depend upon the numbers of players that sign up. We sstrive to limit team sizes to no more than 10 players, so evaluations will be held for those grades with more than 10 players signing up.

2008 Evaluations for all 5th & 6th grade boys will occur from 4PM ~ 6PM and all 5th & 6th grade girls will occur from 6PM ~ 8PM. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time for registration. Reference list of the Evaluation Drills

    • Tournaments

    Becker will host a tournament for 4th and 5th grade teams on January 17th and 18th, with boys playing on Saturday the 17th and girls playing on Sunday, the 18th. Becker will host a tournament for 6th through 8th grade teams on February 14th and 15th, with boys playing on Saturday the 14th and girls playing on Sunday the 15th. All Becker teams will be entered to play in the tournament, with 3rd grade teams playing in the 4th grade division, if they so desire. The association will pay for other tournaments, and tournament selections will be made by each team's coach.

    • Volunteers

    One parent for each player in the program will be expected to volunteer time at the Becker tournaments. This includes 3rd grade parents. These are fund raising events for our program, and we need everyone to be present so that we can raise enough money to keep our program going. The parents of boy players will work the girls tournament for that grade, and the parents of girl players will work the corresponding boys tournament. Those parents who do not fulfill their volunteer time will forfeit their deposit. Any questions should be addressed to those board members listed on this website.
